asalamanca Wonderful album. I can hear hear there the echoes of early tunes of the Druggie Beats, like "Unemployement song" or "Aliotonio".
The music makes me feel joyful as well as sad. The voice and the instruments fit perfectly. Matt Higgins has matured musically, and I can't wait to hear his next album. Favorite track: Ghost.

It doesn't fit. No matter what you say... Still worth a try for what it is When nothing much is at stake. And yet I'm drowning in the spot light, My lips move words uncertain. I tell myself to stop right now And run underneath the curtain. I think I made myself so sick My eyes too big for my stomach, And if music is the food of love Then I'll be set for a come down. I should have been more brave! Gotten up on to that stage. I won't stop thinking for hours Unless I do something about it...

You're the reason I'm right out of my head, You're the reason that I start to forget, You're the reason... You're the reason that I'm telling you this, You're the reason I'm a communist, You're the reason. You're the reason that I died on the cross, You're the reason that I made that shit up, You're the reason! You're the reason that I'm Jesus Christ, You're the reason that I lied about that twice, There are no reasons. You're the reason that I'm voting for the greens, And the queen, And all the the tweens, Because there are no reasons. Because there are no reasons. You're the reason I'm so black and white, You're the reason why that's not alright, You're the reason. You're the reason for my tin foil hat, When I'm the reason that you're minding the gap, You're the reason I don't give a fuck, You're the reason I'm a robot duck, There are no reasons. There are no reasons. There are no reasons. You're the reason that I can't express. You're the reason why I'm wearing a dress. There are no reasons. There are no reasons.

Do you feel the buzz of boredom running laps around your chest? Do you like your talk of English weather being second guessed? Did you stay here for the music? Would you like a cup of tea? Did your tastebuds dry like the sun until you ate that foreign meal? Did you stay here for the music? Have you noticed how the shops in all the streets look all the same? How obsessed we are with money and with monarchy and fame? Are you putting up the locks on all the windows and the doors? Lest those burglars try to get you in the night without a cause? Did you stay here for the music? And when teachers fear the children lest their mothers scream abuse, Then they question why their children grow up awkward and recluse. Did you stay here for the music? Would you like a cup of tea? Did your tastebuds dry like the sun until you ate that foreign meal? Did you stay here for the music?

Your love is inexcusable, Like poison in my mouth. Your love is the polar opposite, Of what love is really about. And yet, I'll take whatever love can give. And I guess, I'll take whatever love can give. Our love is a rotten starfish, Which died from social failure. It has the intoxicating charm, Of paper-plane paraphernalia. And I guess, I'l take whatever love can give, And... I'll take whatever love can give.

Tin foil... What's going on outside? Tin foil... You keep my happiness in mind. You keep my happiness in mind... Tin foil. Tin foil... I was awake last night. Tin foil... It got me thinking about life. Tin foil... Is there no place to hide? Oh Tin foil...! Protect me from the after life!! Oh my... Tin foil... (Tin) Tin foil...

Airborn(e) 01:56
I got up this morning with nothing to do, I looked out the window and thought about you. I told myself not to, I did it again, If only my will power was also my friend. I don't know, I don't feel so high. I don't know, I don't feel so high. I went to the job centre, And what did I see? A miserable man not pretending to be. I went there for an hour, got bored and came home, And wrote these damn lyrics on my obsolete phone. And I work in a nightclub on Saturday nights! But apart from the songs, well, I guess it's alright. There's dancing and drinking, The atmosphere's great! I'm having more fun than the people who came... I don't know, I don't feel so high. I don't know, I don't feel so high.

Asleep 02:03
Asleep so sedately, Come wake me, When it's over. Waiting for the time to pass, Days spent on the sofa Asleep, Asleep. Under your rules I condition myself, Pin the donkey on the tale of my mental health, Figuring out what is and isn't real. Take the knife out, Break the spell, Pour all my emotion down the wishing well. Time the thief can rob me 'til I heal... When I'm Asleep, Asleep.

Ghost 02:05
I found our pictures in the trash behind the house, That was the last time that you told me to get out. I say such stupid things and yet I never learn, Sometimes I feel I have more love than I deserve. I still remember how you first got into me, Like a spirit that possessed and left with it's anxieties. Oblivious what that bite took until you scratch, I saw myself in you and now I want him back.

End Song. 02:40
Give 'em all a thousand years, And give 'em time to think. Don't they know that all this love they sought has caused an ugly stink? Don't they know that all the wars they fought, They didn't mean a thing. And all those ugly things they bought, They didn't mean a thing! It's their passion, It's their poison, What they call the common touch. It's destroyed the lives of everyone, This ugly fuckin' drug, I'm talking about love... Love... I'm talking about love! Well, I'm talking 'bout love... Ooh baby, Oh my.
